1 February 2021 – Heiko Roß has been working as a consultant for Umwelt Management AG for a considerable time and is now moving firmly onto the UMaAG board with over 25 years of experience in the planning and implementation of innovative projects in the field of renewable energies.
After completing his studies in electrical engineering with a specialisation in electrical power engineering at the Bundeswehr University in Hamburg, Mr Roß held various management positions in Germany and Switzerland, most recently as Managing Director at GEWI GmbH in Hanover, one of the major direct marketers in Germany. His career is characterised by the development of complex power supply solutions, comprehensive grid connection solutions, wind turbine construction and innovation in electrical energy storage solutions. His professional career includes, among other things, positions at Windreich Gruppe, BARD Gruppe, Plambeck Neue Energien, and PreussenElektra AG. As a board member at Umwelt Management AG UMaAG, Mr Roß is responsible for the ‚Special Projects‘ division (including projects on sector coupling and electrolysis).
Umwelt Management AG UMaAG has been active in the field of renewable energy projects in the German market since 1998. The company now employs 40 people at two sites: Cuxhaven and Oldenburg. With 216 wind turbines in 35 wind farms under commercial management, 48 wind turbines in 12 wind farms under technical management, and over 660.98 MW of total installed capacity, including biomass, the company is one of the leading innovative forces in the development of renewable energy concepts in Germany. Internationally, 4 wind energy projects in Poland are close to implementation. Furthermore, 2 biomass power plants, a solar project, and a highly energy-efficient residential development with 32 apartments for families, couples, and seniors are in the planning stages.
