Warsaw/Hanover/Cuxhaven, 18.01.2022 – The direct marketing company from the GETEC ENERGIE Group, together with Umwelt Management AG UMaAG and Energiequelle GmbH, is establishing a subsidiary in Poland to support operators of wind, photovoltaic, and biogas plants in Poland with the pan-European marketing of their green electricity.
Founded in 2021, GEWI Sp. z o.o. will carry GEWI GmbH's core business across the national border into Poland and ensure further growth in green electricity marketing. Poland offers interesting opportunities for the marketing of electricity from renewable energy sources: In 2020, the Polish government announced that at least 23 percent of gross final energy consumption should come from renewable energy sources by 2030. As a result, many new generation facilities are expected to be built in Poland. In addition to classic direct marketing on electricity exchanges, GEWI Sp. z o.o. also offers plant operators long-term PPAs, trading in guarantees of origin and property rights, as well as other complementary energy industry services.
