Once introduced: IHK Stade – Cuxhaven Regional Committee

The most northerly district in Lower Saxony has a lot to offer: in addition to the port and logistics economy and tourism, the agricultural, food, and fishing industries are also broadly based. Due to its exposed geographical location at the mouth of the Elbe, the district is also ideally suited as a leading location in the field of offshore wind energy.

As diverse as the economy in the Cuxhaven district is, the Cuxhaven Regional Committee also works with a broad range of services.

„Our committee members represent a variety of industries in the Cuxhaven district,“ emphasises Uwe Leonhardt, Chairman of the Cuxhaven IHK Regional Committee. This makes it particularly important to bundle the needs and wishes of individual sectors and to pull together. The IHK Regional Committee looks beyond the obvious and focuses on exchanging ideas with politics and administration on current issues. Even during the Corona crisis, the committee was an effective platform for discussing current regulations and measures. Leonhardt: „We advocate for the personal responsibility of each individual in dealing with risks, especially now after the easing of Corona measures, while at the same time risk groups must continue to be protected. At the same time, we need many perspectives, but they must all point in the same direction: towards a healthy restart of the economy.“ (from: Wirtschaft Elbe-Weser, magazine of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Stade, p. 28. 7/8 2020, www.stade.ihk24.de)
