Cuxhaven 21.07.2021 This year, the town of Cuxhaven participated in the campaign developed by Climate Alliance City Cycling and encouraged local companies to cycle for three weeks for a good climate. Of course, UMaAG and its cycling fans couldn't miss out.
In the overall ranking with 2,880 kilometres cycled, UMaAG achieved a proud 11th place out of 83 participants; and this with a small team of 10 employees. With an average of 288 km cycled for a good climate, the UMaAG team could have almost reached three European capitals from Cuxhaven in three weeks: Amsterdam, Berlin, and Copenhagen.
The UMaAG team couldn't quite reach their goal of getting into the top 10 for kilometres driven per person in the final stretches, but the team did finish in a very respectable 13th place – a truly fantastic achievement.
And these are our winners at the internal team Olympiad:
- Gold: Heiko Roß with 767.8 km and a saving of 112.9 kg CO2
- Silver: Wolfgang Berger with 474.0 km and a saving of 69.7 kg of CO2
- Bronze: Claudia Itjen with 426.0 km and a saving of 62.6 kg CO2

Overall, the UMaAG alone was able to save 423.4 kg of CO2 saving. We are very proud of that. We will certainly be taking part again in the next STADTRADELN campaign. Many thanks to all participants for your commitment and perseverance!
